Today we installed a new SSL certificate to allow the site to be delivered through HTTPS instead of HTTP. This allows your connection to us to be encrypted and thus less vulnerable to hackers and snoopers. The site will automatically redirect to the HTTPS URL when you visit, but if you encounter any problems... please let us know. [24]

Today around 11:10am CST we launched the new workamper resume page. This new page adds the option to search for workers willing to work in specific states and/or countries. There may be some inaccurate results until August 31, 2017 because there are still active resumes that have not updated to the new location system. By the end of August, all the workers will have updated their resume.
This new search option was requested by several employers and we are happy to be able to provide it. Due to the cost of adding this new feature, we will be doubling the rate we charge our users. Two times zero is still zero. Yes, the site is still 100% free for everyone to use and no registration is required. Y'all have a blessed day and be sure to visit our Google and Amazon advertiser's pages if they are of interest to you. Thank you! [23]

One of the RV workers who use this site noticed many campground ads ask that a couple work 24 hours but a single person work 32 hours? Why should one person work 8 hours more that two people? Seems to us that the site offered would be of the same value. We would think that two people use twice as much water, more electricity (if home at separate times) and probably have a bigger rig. If having a couple there cost the campground more, shouldn't they work me? Does your campground have different rates for couples or single workampers? Let us know your thoughts on this. [22]

We are implementing a better system to allow employers to sort through resumes. The forms to submit or edit resumes have been updated to facilitate this. If you have a resume submitted prior to July 18, 2016, the first time you edit it, you will need to re-select your expected compensation and what job type you prefer. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to the RV workers. [21]

Cynthia and I are taking a road trip this week to Savannah, GA. For this reason, we won't be able to approve new ads or ad changes until the evening time when we get back to the campground (Skidaway Island State Park). So don't fret, we'll review the site every night, Lord willing, and your ad will be published. [20]

We are changing the way we display the help wanted ads. Instead of listing them by calendar month, we will list them based on activity within the previous 30 day period. If you submit, edit or renew an ad, it will automatically show for the next 30 days. Near the end of that 30 day period, you will receive an email reminding you to renew your ad or mark it as position filled. If an ad is not renewed, it will simply disappear from the site after 30 days. It will still be in the database, so you can renew it at any time.
This change will make it so employers don't have to renew an ad on the 1st that they just submitted on the 30th of the previous month. It also will eliminate the mass renewals on the 1st of each month. We hope this small change makes using the site easier for everyone.
This change does not affect resumes. They will continue to show for a 60 day period before needing to be renewed. [19]

2015 came and went and for most folks, it was a pretty decent year. As for us, we are quite blessed. We hope that all of our RVing friends have a safe and happy 2016.
We don't own any Apple products (iPad, iPhone, etc) so we have never been able to see what our site looks like on those devices. Well, our grand daughter got an iPad Air for Christmas so we took that opportunity to see! It looks like the iOS system doesn't view the web quite the same way as the rest of the world. We found a few alignment issues and fixed those right away, but we also noticed Apple users could not tap the page numbers on certain pages, allowing them to scroll through content. That was a bear figuring out why but we found the solution and we are happy to say that you Apple users can now tap every button we have. We're actually quite surprised that no one brought this to our attention as bugs are pointed out to us very quickly by our users. Oh well, the issues are resolved and hopefully 2016 will be a bug free year for everyone. :) [18]

Today, we added the ability to see how many times your workamper resume has been viewed. Keep in mind, the count started at zero when this was implemented (11/23/2015 11:32am CST) so the count will tick up from then. The count is visible when looking at an individual resume and is located on the same line indicating when the resume was last updated. This will let our users know just how much their resume is being seen. [17]

We will be off the grid from Wednesday November 25th through Sunday November 29th therefore any new ads or changes to existing ads will not be processed until we return home that Sunday. We hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving and made God bless all of our RV friends! [16]

Today, we migrated our websites to a new server. We moved from a west coast data center to an east cost data center in hopes of improving response times across all of our sites. Our host is Web Hosting Hub and we have been with them for years, but recently service went to crap. I think the server we were hosted on got some massive traffic and couldn't handle it all, so a move was our only option. We are still with Web Hosting Hub until March 2016 when it will be time to renew. If service has not improved by then, we will switch providers. [15]

We've added a new section to the site that allows workampers to write reviews on their workamping experiences. We've had numerous requests for this and now it is ready for everyone to start using. A link is available on the home page as well as most other pages. We hope you enjoy this new feature! [14]

Since we are now averaging well over 100 new help wanted ads each month, we added the option to display only ads for a specific state. This will allow the RV workers to quickly select only ads for the state they want to work in. You can now sort by month/year, most recently added, all states alphabetically, specific job duties, specific compensation and state by city (and any combination thereof). And yes, the site is still 100% free and no registration is required. [13]

We modified the forms that employers use to submit their ads so they can designate specifically what position they need filled and what the compensation is. This information is stored so that the RV workers can sort the ads to show only positions and/or compensation packages they are interested in. You can still sort all the ways you could before, but now you have a few more options. This new sorting does not apply to old ads, only new or updated ads posted after this date. We received over 120 ads during the month of January and these new sorting options will make it easier for you to search through the ads. And before anyone asks... Yes, the site is still 100% free to use with no registration required. :) [11]

We finished the code to make the help wanted ads editable. This allows the RV park and campground owners the opportunity to edit an existing ad rather than having to submit a new one. We will still require that all ads be renewed or resubmitted each month, but we think being able to edit during the month is a great new feature. [10]

We went ahead and switched to the new format for the work wanted ads instead of waiting until the end of the month. If you submitted or renewed a work wanted ad on January 1st and it wasn't the new format, please submit a new resume using the updated form. Just click "Submit an Ad" anywhere on the site and it will take you there. We apologize for any confusion during the changeover but the new format is much more beneficial to the employers who will see your ads. [9]

We finished the code to allow uploads of JPG images to go along with your ad. There is a link in the right hand menu to the upload page. Please read the guidelines carefully as they must be followed in order for it to work. [8]

We've coded the page that will display the new RV worker resumes (work wanted ads). You can see it now at resume.php. We'll be doing away with the old style of work wanted ads, but will be keeping the help wanted just as they are now. Each new resume will be assigned an ID number so you can link directly to your resume from another website. We will also make it so you can edit your resume instead of needing to submit / renew each month.
Resumes will only be displayed if they have been updated within the last 60 days, so you will need to edit or verify it at least once every 60 days. Our next task is to code the new submission form for work wanted resumes and we've already started on it. And even with all the new updates to the site, it is still 100% free to use for everyone! [7]

We added 2 news URLs for the site. They are RVworker.com and RVjobListings.com. There is still only one site and one database, just multiple ways to get here. We added these to hopefully generate even more traffic based on what people type in Google when looking for a workamping job.
Also, we are working on adding the code necessary to allow you to upload a picture with your ad. Employers can upload things like a picture of their facility and workers can show a picture of themselves and/or their rig. We will be revamping the form where workers submit their resumès so it will look better and display more consistently. We don't have a timeline when this will be available but we are hoping to have it implemented by the end of January 2015. [2]
