Lake Houston Wilderness Park is currently seeking camp hosts to live on site in this lushly forested expanse of nearly 5,000 acres. The park is located four miles east of New Caney (approximately 30 miles north of Houston) off Hwy-59. Lake Houston Wilderness Park is the only park in the departments inventory that allows overnight camping. This is not an RV park. Although there is no hunting allowed in the park, there are plenty of other things to do. It offers a variety of outdoor learning experiences for people of all ages including camping, hiking, trail running, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, birding, fishing, and horseback riding. Camp hosts are not allowed to board horses at the park. Most of the park is heavily forested with beautiful trails. The position is a part-time volunteer position assisting with essential end of day and after hours functions related to guest safety, security, maintenance, or other duties along those lines. Other duties may include but aren't limited to custodial, backup cashiering, and nature center duties. In exchange for these work duties the Camp Host will be given a campsite with full hookups, and free use of facilities. The lighthouse is open11am to 4pm, so on your work days you need to arrive a little early to get ready, and then lock both doors once you have finalized financial paperwork for the day. Friendly Work Camper Couple Needed For the 2026 Season for our quiet RV park in South Central Wisconsin Job Duties: Camp Host Couple Compensation: FHU Only and a $1000 commitment bonus This is a seasonal job beginning April 24 and ending October 2, 2026. The couple will work 21 to 28 hours per week. The couple can work together during those hours or individually to cover the hours. You will receive a full hook-up site (30 or 50 amp), utilities, and a $1000 commitment bonus for the season. You would be responsible as a couple for coverage in and around the clubhouse at Fountain Lake RV Park, Inc. The hours will consist of office hours involving manning the office, cleaning of the clubhouse, clubhouse bathrooms, and laundry building. The office will be open 7 days a week and the hours will be split with our other Work camper couple or volunteer hosts. The office hours will be 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a 1-hour lunch break.
