The Refuge provides a mix of wildlife habitats from the open waters, wetland edges, and sagebrush uplands of the Lake Lowell Unit to the sagebrush uplands, grasslands, and riparian forests on the Snake River Islands Unit. Tasks: Mowing, weed whacking, and watering lawns at our visitor center and housing area (~3 acres), picking up trash, empty dog waste bins and empty fishing line receptacles at parking areas, front desk hosting at the visitor center (4-hour shifts.) As time allows, you may help in other areas such as invasive weed removal, trail and garden maintenance, helping at events and more. Time Commitment Available Dates: April - October, minimum commitment of 6-8 weeks. Hours: single volunteer commits to 32 hours/week. While couples, each person commits to 20 hours/week. You will be a smiling, helpful, courteous, friendly representative of Camp Mack to all guests. This isn't something where you're breaking up fights or being heavy handed. This is mostly a friendly presence on the property. We are about 75 acres total. We will provide you with a very spacious campsite and all utilities. Fay Bainbridge Park is a 17-acre marine camping park with 1,420 feet of saltwater shoreline on the northeast corner of Bainbridge Island. The park contains 26 RV Sites, 14 tent sites, and currently 3 (soon to be 5) rustic cabins. It offers sweeping views of Puget Sound, the Cascade Mountains and features sandy beaches. On clear days, Mount Rainier and Mount Baker are visible from a sandy beach. Our camp hosts are a guest's first point of contact when they arrive at our campground. The Camp Host will greet the public, assist them with questions, help guests find a site, or provide guidance about the local area.
